Dr. Bina Biswas was a Professor of English Communications and Language in an Engineering College under JNTU, Hyderabad. She is a translator, critic, poet, fiction writer, editor and a multilinguist par excellence, besides being a Tagore expert. She is an alumnus of University of Delhi and has done her Ph.D. from Andhra University(Vishakhapatnam Campus).She has done B.Ed and Diploma in Creative Writing in English from IGNOU. She has authored 7 books and 4 major translations.

Translation of Sahitya Akademi Award Winner Mahesh Dattani’s plays Final Solutions and other plays from English to Bengali, published by Sahitya Akademi, Kolkata. Co-translated Bangladeshi playwright Masum Reza’s Araz into English from Bengali, being published by Methuen Drama, Bloomsbury, UK. Edited and compiled an anthology entitled Dattani`s Plays-Staging the Invisibles.
