Painted blue tears

draining from the eyes, and

behind those closed eyes

I found stories.

Eyes dripping kohl

were my crayon doodles

my hair smelt of sea spray, and

faraway rains.

While I played

with half hearted sorrows,

my dreams got painted blue,

dark midnight blue, and

I lived by halves.
