Dr.T.Sumathy aka Thamizhachi Thangapandian obtained her M.A., M.Phil., in English Literature from Thiagarajar Arts College, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. She worked as a Senior-Grade Lecturer in English at Queen Mary’s College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, from 1996-2008. As a research scholar, she was the recipient of the AIC (Australia – India Council) Fellow Award (2004) and obtained her Doctorate from the University of Madras (2010).
Acclaimed as a Tamil poet, her areas of interest include post – colonial literatures (especially Sri Lankan and Australian), diasporic literatures (especially Sri Lankan Tamil Diaspora), translation, criticism and performing arts (Tamil Theatre). She has to her credit Nineteen (19) publications in Tamil and One (1) publication in English – Island to Island – The Voice of Sri Lankan Australian Playwright: Ernest
Thalayasingham Macintyre (2013).
Currently, she is a freelance writer and a theatre artist.
