ABOUT THE AUTHOR After studying BA (Hons.) and MA (Economics) from Delhi University, B S Chauhan joined the Indian Economic Service in 1980. He then qualified Civil Services Exam (1983 Batch) and worked in many important Departments and Ministries of the Government of India. While as Director in the Prime Minister’s office, Chauhan worked with Shri P V Narsimha Rao, Shri I K Gujral, Shri H. D. Deve Gowda, and Shri Atal Vihari Vajpayee. He was an officer on special duty of Shri P M Sayeed, Deputy Speaker during 11th and 12th Lok Sabha. Joined Deputy Speaker’s and Prime Minister’s delegation of about 15 countries and also in the UN General Assembly in New York and Non-Aligned Moment Meeting in Columbia. Led Indian delegation on special assignments to Japan, Philippines, Maldives, and Nepal. Currently working as Media Advisor at the time of publication of this novel. His collection of short stories “Beti ko Talashti Ankhein” was published in 2010. Chauhan is associated with many NGOs working for welfare and development. His articles have also been published worldwide. He is a member of Screen Writers Association and has a special interest in literature and films.
This book is a conversation between Ved Vyas (the present author) and Aswathama (the future author). It is a journey through the epic Mahabharath by these two. On their way, they are startled by the knowledge that every species has its own Mahabharath, the most bizarre being the Termite Mahabharath which is written on palm leaves and consumed as quickly as it is written. This new Mahabharath was totally experimental. It was titled Mruthabharatham (Mahabharath of the Dead.)
